Paris Saint-Germain beat Villarreal 6-0 at the Estadio de la Cerámica on Tuesday 3 November 2026, scoring four goals in 16 minutes and two seconds to set a Champions League record for the fastest four-goal start to a match.
It was the club's biggest-ever away win in the competition, and it kept Luis Enrique's team top of the league-stage standings with a perfect 12 points from four games.
The previous benchmark for four goals in a Champions League match was 20 minutes, set by Real Madrid in a 6-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb in 2011, according to India Today. PSG beat it with time to spare.
Four goals before the 18th minute
João Neves opened the scoring in the ninth minute. Désiré Doué added the second in the 12th, Senny Mayulu the third in the 13th, and Fabián Ruiz made it four in the 17th.
Villarreal had barely settled into the match and it was already over. PSG led 4-0 at half-time.
Ruiz struck again in the 50th minute for his second of the night, and David Boly completed the scoring in the 78th. Boly was 17 years and 285 days old, which makes him PSG's second-youngest Champions League goalscorer behind Warren Zaïre-Emery.
All of this came with PSG missing several senior players. According to India Today, Ousmane Dembélé, Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes were absent, along with long-term absentee Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The numbers around the win are striking. beIN SPORTS reported that PSG have now won four from four in the Champions League this season, have scored 20 goals in those four matches, and have won 10 consecutive games in all competitions. Two weeks earlier they had beaten Barcelona 4-2 at the Parc des Princes.
A night of unwanted firsts for Villarreal
For the hosts, the evening set records of a different kind. According to beIN SPORTS, Villarreal had never before conceded six goals in a European match, and they became the first Spanish side to let in six at home in Europe.
They sit 29th in the 36-team standings with three points from 12 available. Before this match they had beaten Napoli 3-1 and lost to Borussia Dortmund, 3-2, and Liverpool, 4-3, according to the club report. Those were matches in which they had at least competed. This one was nothing like them.
Íñigo Pérez did not hide from it. "We're doing badly, devastated," the Villarreal coach said.
"We started the way we wanted, we tried to get people excited. But then we hit rock bottom and the blow was insurmountable. We haven't even managed to get close to them."
