Editorial policy
Ten clauses, written to be checked — by readers and by partners.
In one line · Tips out before kickoff at the feed's price, settled from the result, losses published like wins, nothing edited or deleted, and no bookmaker money touching any of it.
01Who publishes here
Members. Every tip on the tips board is posted by a member under a display name they chose, and settles into that member's public record. FreakBets publishes two things of its own, both labelled as ours: the daily bet of the day, and the VIP channel's record, which is shown in aggregate only. We do not invent bylines, photographs or credentials.
02How tips are selected
Members choose their own. The house bet of the day is chosen on sporting judgement and the price available — no quota: nothing worth posting, nothing posted — and never for the bookmaker offering it, or for a partner (see 06).
03When a tip is published
Before the event starts, at the best price the bookmaker feed showed at posting — read by our server, not typed — and frozen. Where the feed has no price, a typed one is allowed but labelled and kept out of the ranked record; tips from before 25 September 2026 carry the price the member entered, labelled as such. Never improved afterwards, nothing added once play has begun.
04How tips are settled
From the result, by the same process for a winner and a loser. Nobody decides whether a losing selection appears.
- Cannot win or lose — a draw on draw-no-bet, a fixture cancelled, abandoned, moved more than 48 hours, or postponed and still unplayed 48 hours after the posted kickoff — is voided, not deleted.
- Each tip shows its own outcome and why: the score it was graded on, or the reason it was voided — by a moderator, for a tip posted after kick-off, or because settlement returned the stake.
- Platform tracking, not a third-party audit.
05Corrections and the append-only rule
Append-only. Nothing is silently edited or deleted — the database refuses both. When something is wrong:
- The original entry stays exactly as published.
- A wrong tip is voided with its reason shown on it, which takes it out of the member's totals. The void is permanent.
- A written grade cannot be changed, and there is no way yet to re-grade a tip or append a correction to it.
06Commercial relationships
We earn from bookmaker relationships, and an affiliate link is disclosed on the page carrying it. They do not touch the record:
- No partner influences which tips run, or when.
- No partner influences settlement — that follows the result.
- No bookmaker can buy, kill or reword a tip.
- No bookmaker sees the record before it is public.
- Results pages carry no affiliate links at all. The bet-of-the-day page carries casino offers, labelled as commercial; the pick on it is not tied to them.
- In reviews, commercial terms are never a rating factor.
07What we will not publish
Banned regardless of how it would perform — copy, images, video, ad creative:
- Betting as income, a way out of debt, or a substitute for a job.
- Guaranteed, risk-free, sure-thing, can’t-lose.
- Beating the bookies, easy money, winning as the default outcome.
- Pressure to chase losses or bet more than planned.
- Anything aimed at under-18s, or placed where they are the audience.
- Fabricated results, invented experts, staged screenshots, unevidenced testimonials.
- Every page carries 18+, the current responsible-gambling line, and links to independent help.
08Accuracy and sample size
Settled automatically from the regulation-time score, once it has read the same on checks at least 12 minutes apart; a cancelled or abandoned fixture, or one postponed and still unplayed 48 hours on, is voided with the stake returned. Nobody reviews a grade before it is published — a market the engine cannot grade is left pending, never guessed.
- Below 100 settled tips a record is labelled an early sample wherever it appears — the boards, member cards, your account, VIP results and its share card.
- Only measures that can be recomputed from the published figures: win rate, flat and stake-weighted return, deepest dip on the ROI index.
- Periods sit in the labels — on the VIP record both ROI figures are the current calendar month and win, draw and loss counts are all-time; member records are lifetime.
09This is not financial advice
Information, not advice. We hold no gambling licence and take no bets. Past results predict nothing, any selection can lose, and long losing runs are normal rather than a sign something has gone wrong. Never stake money you cannot afford to lose.
10Report an error
A result settled wrong, a price that does not match, a missing selection, a broken total — email hello@freakbets.com with the date, the selection and what it should say.
- Reports about the record are checked against the source.
- No response time is published: a reporting address, not a support desk.
- A valid report is corrected under 05.
- Affiliate and compliance teams: this page is the policy of record.
