No competition is running

Tips are being posted and settled, and the leaderboard is running — but no competition has opened and no prize has ever been paid. Amounts and full terms will be published here before entry opens.

Not a way to make money · A prize is a small payment for posting analysis in public — not an income, a second income, or a way to deal with money you are short of. Most people who bet lose money over time.

How you would qualify

The board
Minimum settled tips in the period
One long price in a quiet week is variance, not a record.
Profit in the category entered
If nobody finished in profit, no prize is awarded there.
Final-day tips excluded
They count to your own record, not to a table.
The anti-gaming rules hold
A record that breaks them is not a record.

The minimum is published as a number before entry opens.

What a prize here is not

Not a way to make money
Not an income or a substitute for work. OLBG's average prize is ~£10.50.
Not a reward for betting more
Virtual bank; real betting moves no position.
Not a signal that betting is profitable
A good record over a period is only that.
Not a guarantee
Every rule can be met by somebody who finishes down.
  • Betting is entertainment that costs money; the odds are set so bettors lose on average.
  • Nothing here is advice; past results say nothing about what comes next.
  • Not a bookmaker: no bets accepted, no client money, no gambling licence.
  • Adults only — 18, or the higher local minimum.
  • If betting has stopped being entertainment, do not enter a tipping competition.

The long version

Why many winners instead of one big prize

One big monthly prize is the obvious format and the worst: by mid-month most of the field can see they will not finish first and stop posting. Supply is the only thing this buys. OLBG, which has run the format longest, pays over 500 people a month at roughly £10.50 average — small by design, split across a long list of categories.

Fair play and enforcement

The anti-gaming rules — no edits, no delete-and-restart, per-market caps, one account per person and household, no post-event tipping, no unobtainable odds, no copying the leader — are on the method page. Breaking them disqualifies a tip, a position or an account; enforcement ships with the engine.
